Best 13 games of the weekend……..
Iowa is 10-0 but covered only one of last four games; Hawkeyes lost five of last six with Nebraska, winning 38-17 (+2.5) in last visit here in 2013- underdogs covered four of last five series games. Iowa won/covered last five games, scoring 37.2 ppg; Nebraska scored 38.3 ppg in its last three games; they need win here to be bowl eligible. Seven of last nine Iowa games, four of last five Nebraska games went over the total.
Michigan State beat Michigan/Ohio State without leading in either game until the last play; Spartans are 10-1; their last three road tilts were won by total of 8 points. Favorites are 10-4 vs spread in last 14 series games; home side lost last three. Penn State is 2-3 in last five games, losing last two 23-21/28-16; three of last four Lion games went over total. Unsure if Michigan State QB Cook will play here; he sat out last week (shoulder).
Washington State QB Falk got knocked goofy LW, is a ? here; Coogs are 8-0 vs spread in last eight games, winning six of last seven SU- they lost four of last five Apple Cups, losing 27-17 in last visit here. Wazzu is 5-0 as road underdogs this year. Washington lost four of last six games; they are 2-2 as home favorites; they ost three of last four home games. Last four Wazzu tilts, six of last eight Washington games stayed under total.
Baylor has two QBs out for year; 3rd-string soph Johnson (5-10/138 in relief LW) gets first college start here. Bears won last two games vs TCU 61-58/41-38- average total in last four series games, 91.5. Baylor is 4-0 on road, but Okla State is only good team they’ve visited. TCU lost two of last three games, is expected to get QB Boykin back here; they lost at Oklahoma 30-29 LW with backup QB. Big X home teams are 19-15.
Ohio State won 10 of last 11 games with Michigan, winning last three by 14-1-5 points, while scoring 36.7 ppg; underdogs covered four of last six series games. Curious to see how Buckeyes respond after LW’s loss to Michigan State, when players criticized coaches. Michigan won last four games, three of which were on road. Last six Michigan games went over total; nine of last ten OSU games stayed under. Big 14 home squads are 20-28 against spread this year.
Michigan State beat Michigan/Ohio State TY when only they led either game was after final play; Spartans is 2-4 as home favorite this year but covered last two- they won 34-10/28-20 in last two games vs Penn State, but this is just second meeting since 2010. PSU is 0-3 in true road games, scoring 13.7 ppg in losses by 17-28-2 points. Lions were held to only 38 rushing yards in LY’s loss to Michigan State. Three of last four Penn State games went over total.
North Carolina won its last ten games since opening loss to So Carolina; they’ve got ACC title game with Clemson next week, still have shot at making 4-team national playoff. Tar Heels are 2-3 in last five games with rival NC State, but won 27-19 in last visit here. Wolfpack is 3-4 in last seven, losing two of last three at home. Carolina has 538 YR in last two games;they’re 3-0 in true road games, winning by 7-7-3. ACC home underdogs are 10-7 against spread.
Favorites covered six of last eight Florida-Florida State games; Seminoles won four of last five, winning 37-7/21-7 in last two visits to the Swamp. FSU is just 2-2 SU on road, losing last two; their road wins are by 14-8 points. Gators won last four games, allowing 9.5 ppg, but needed OT to beat FAU last week. ACC non-conference favorites are 6-5 vs spread; SEC dogs are 2-2. Seven of nine FSU games, six of last seven Florida games stayed under total.
Sounds like it is Les Miles’ last game at LSU; Tigers lost last three games after a 7-0 start; Tigers ran ball for total of 297 yards in last three games, after running for 211+ in each of first seven games. LSU won last three games vs Texas A&M, winning by 6-24-5 points, winning 34-10 in last A&M visit here. Aggies are 0-2 as an underdog this year; they won three of last four games overall- all three A&M road games stayed under total.
Cal lost five of last six games after 5-0 start, with only win vs a terrible Oregon State team; Golden Bears won eight of last ten games vs Arizona State, but teams haven’t met since ’12- favorites covered six of last eight series games. ASU won its rivalry game with Arizona LW; they lost last two road games, 34-18 at Utah, 38-24 at Wazzu. Cal is 2-1 as a favorite at home. Pac-12 home favorites are 17-15 against the spread this year.
Oklahoma won its last six games, despite giving up 63 points in last two games- they almost lost to TCU’s backup QB LW. Sooners are 3-2 last five years vs Oklahoma State, with average total of 74.2- road team won last two years. Cowboys lost first game LW, giving up 700 yards to a couple Baylor backup QBs- they’re 2-0 as an underdog. Last five OSU games went over the total. Big X home underdogs are 6-7 vs spread.
Home side won last four Egg Bowls, with dogs winning SU last couple years; Ole Miss lost last five visits to Starkville- dogs covered four of those five games. Rebels split four road games despite win at Alabama; they won three of last four overall, losing in OT to Arkansas. Miss St was held under 20 points in all three of its losses. Seven of last eight Ole Miss games stayed under total; four of last six MSU games went over. SEC home underdogs are 6-12 vs spread.
Home side won last four Notre Dame-Stanford games; Irish lost last two visits to Farm, 27-20/28-14. ND won last six games; four of its five road games were decided by 7 or less points. Stanford allowed 436+ TY in four of last six games; they’ve won nine of last ten games, but are off rivalry win over Cal, with Pac-12 title game on deck next week. Pac-12 non-conference home favorites are 9-6 vs spread. Three of last four Irish games, four of last five Stanford games stayed under total.
UCLA won its last three games with USC by 18-21-10 points; Bruins’ 35-14 win here in 2013 was their first in last eight trips to LA Coliseum. Underdogs are 7-4 vs spread in last 11 series games overall. Trojans won four of last five games, but got whacked 48-28 LW at Oregon; they gave up 41+ points in three of four losses this year. UCLA won four of last five games, with only loss to Wazzu; four of last five Bruin games, three of last four USC games stayed under total.

— UL-Lafayette is 1-6-1 vs spread in its last eight games; they lost 35-16 (-9.5) at Appalachian State LY, ASU ran for 232 yards. Four of last five ASU games, four of last six ULL games went over the total.
— Louisville won last four games with Kentucky, by 4-14-18-7 points, underdogs are 6-3-1 vs spread in last ten series games. Cardinals won last two visits here 27-13/24-17. Kentucky lost five of its last six games.
— Cincinnati lost last four road games, allowing 44.8 ppg; its only win on road was 37-33 at Miami, OH. Bearcats were down 51-3 at half in loss at South Florida LW- they beat Pirates 54-46 (+2.5) in LY’s meeting.
— Temple split its last four games after a 7-0 start; they’ve won three of last four vs UConn- Huskies won 28-21 (+7) in last visit to Philly. AAC home favorites are 6-13. Last four UConn games stayed under the total.
— Iowa State fired its coach Sunday; they allowed 41.7 ppg in losing last three games- they covered four of last five. West Virginia won two of three games with Cyclones– road team won all three meetings.
— Duke lost last four games after a 6-1 start, allowing 42.3 ppg; they’ve won last three games with Wake Forest by 20-7-7 points. Wake is 6-1 vs spread in last seven games- they scored only 12.7 ppg in those games.
— Boston College lost its last seven games, scoring 10.3 ppg; they lost 19-16 to Notre Dame in Fenway LW. Syracuse fired its coach after they lost eight games in row- they covered last three home games.
— Indiana lost six of last seven games but is bowl eligible with win here; Hoosiers are 3-9 in last 12 games vs Purdue, covering two of last eight at Purdue. Favorites covered five of last seven series games.
— Old Dominion is 2-9 vs spread this year, 1-6 as an underdog; five of their last six games went over total. FAU lost six of its last seven games, scoring 16.7 ppg in last three- their last five games stayed under total.
— Tennessee won its last four games, allowing 8 points in last two; four of its last five games stayed under. Vols are 15-3 in last 18 games with Vanderbilt- dogs covered eight of last 11 (5-0 in last five in Knoxville).
— South Alabama is 2-5 vs spread as an underdog this year; three of last four USA games stayed under total. Georgia Southern split its last four games after a 5-1 start- their last four games stayed under total.
— UNLV lost five of last six games, allowing 101 points in last two; they lost seven of last nine games vs Wyoming, losing last four visits here by average of 36-21. Wyoming is 1-10 this year, losing its last four games.
— Middle Tennessee won last three games, scoring 30.7 ppg; they’re 1-4 on road, with only win 24-17 at FAU. UTSA is 1-4 at home this year, losing by 27-2-3-5 points (2-1 as home dog)– win was over Rice.

— BYU is 3-2 in its last five games with Utah State, winning 31-14 last visit here. Cougars are 2-3 on road, with wins by 1-5 points. Aggies lost three of last five games and were favored to win all five.
— Virginia Tech needs win here to get to bowl for 27th year in row; they won last 11 games with Virginia, which scored 9.4 ppg in last five series games. Cavaliers split last six games overall, covering four of last five.
— Rice lost last four games, allowing 38.8 ppg; they’re 1-1-1 as favorites this year. Charlotte lost last nine games, is 1-3-1 vs spread in last five; they’re 2-2-1 as road dogs. Last three Charlotte games went over total.
— Maryland lost last eight games, is 0-4 SU on road this year; they lost 41-38 (-8.5) at home to Rutgers LY. Rutgers won at Army LW, ending a 4-game skid- six of last nine Rutgers games stayed under the total.
— Georgia is 12-2 in last 14 games with Georgia Tech, but lost 30-24 at home to Tech LY; Dawgs won last three games overall, allowing average of 11 ppg. Tech covered once in its last nine games (1-1 as a dog).
— Kansas State lost six of last seven games, rallying for 38-35 win over clueless Iowa State LW; Wildcats won last five games vs Kansas by an average of 51-13. Jayhawks are 2-6 vs spread in their last eight games.
— Northwestern won its last four games, all by 7 or less points; they’re 9-2 despite being underdog in six of ten lined games (2-2F). Illinois may keep interim coach Cubit; they need win here to be bowl eligible. Dogs are 5-2 vs spread in last seven series games- teams split last eight.

— Colorado State won last three games, scoring 34.3 ppg; they’re eligible for bowl now. Rams won three of last four games with Fresno, but teams haven’t met since ’12. Bulldogs lost eight of their last ten games.
— UL-Monroe heads to Hawai’i on nine-game losing streak; they covered once in last eight games. Hawai’i also lost its last nine games; both teams have already fired their coach. Please do not wager on this game.
