Tonight we will call for Philadelphia’s first win against the likewise lowly Lakers. This is a great spot for Philly. They have been improving every game and have kept it close against good teams their last 5 games. Philly has lost by an average of just 4.8 points per game over that time period and could have won in a 2-point loss at the Houston Rockets. They also were in control for the majority of the game against a disciplined Boston Celtics team before letting their lead slip in the fourth quarter. A team that is 0-18 is never a great team to back but Philly spread bettors have profited this season as the 76ers have gone 10-8 ATS. They are tied right now for the most consecutive losses to start a season, so there will certainly be motivation tonight to not be in the record books for something so horrific. While Philly is on an upward trend recently, the Lakers have been getting worse by the game. They have dropped their last 6 games by an average of 15.6 points and their defense has been atrocious. Kobe has resorted to writing poetry reminiscing on the good ol’ days and has called it quits because he knows the Lakers are done. With Philly having a defensive edge and home court advantage, there is definitely value in taking the 76ers -1.5.
