New York Knicks -3 – Dime Play
Despite their long and storied history the Knicks have played second fiddle on the court to the Nets in the nation’s top market for most of the past decade. But the fortunes of both teams are changing and the Knicks appear to be a team on the rise with rookie Kristaps Porzingiz – a controversial draft pick last June – having an immediate impact. The Knicks had lost 4 straight through Sunday but soundly defeated “red hot” Philadelphia, which had won its first game of the season the night before, on Wednesday in the Knicks only game since last Sunday. The Nets are on their own modest 2 game winning streak which perhaps has this line deflated by a point or two. New York has shown much better chemistry this season than have over the past several seasons and a win tonight gets the Knicks back to .500 which is a minor milestone of sorts. The Knicks have already shown the can defeat Playoff caliber teams this season and the Nets are far from a Playoff caliber team. It won’t be a blowout but it should be a comfortable win in the high single digits.
