HARRY BONDI

PURDUE (+7) over Marshall
3 p.m. ET
Not only did the “Steam Team” go 2-0 on Saturday, but we also had a nice underdog, outright winner here on the FREE PICK page when Temple (+6.5) upset Penn State. Today, we go with another underdog against an overvalued favorite. The Thundering Herd went 13-1 last year but lose quarterback Rakeem Cato and linebacker Neville Hewitt, Conference USA’s Player of the Year. While we think Cato’s replacement, Michael Birdsong, has potential, it may take him some time to get his feet under him, considering the last time he played a game was with James Madison 21 months ago. Marshall is also thin and inexperienced on the defensive line and that plays right into the hands of Purdue, who as we reported in our College Football Preview, has one of the biggest and best offensive lines in the Big 10. Look for the Boilermakers to be able to control the clock and come in under the number here. Take the points!
