3-Unit Play #841 Take Detroit +2
over Washington
(7 p.m. EST, Friday)
The Wizards are one of a few teams on a back-to-back here after the all-star break. This team hasn’t been good in back-to-back situations this season at 3-8 SU. They have been a little better against the spread but they have to win here to cover this line. The Wizards are the better team on paper but games aren’t played on paper and the Pistons are having a stronger season and currently have three more wins than Washington. Detroit also has a strong history in this series with four covers in the last five meetings and they have covered in six of the last seven games here in Washington. We think the wrong team is favored here as we had the Pistons as a slight one-point favorite here and expect them to get the road win here tonight.

3-Unit Play #843 Take Dallas/Orlando – UNDER 205
(7 p.m. EST, Friday)
We saw some rusty teams on Thursday after the all-star break as all three games went under the posted number. This one has a great chance to go under as well. Both teams trend to the under with totals above 200. Neither of these squads are great offensive teams. Orlando averages under 100 PPG in a league where most teams average over 100, and Dallas is a tad bit over 100. The Magic played pretty good defense before the break and with a lot of rest here we think they will be strong on D tonight here at home. Their totals are normally too high at home where the under is 16-10 this season. Plus when Dallas goes on the road they average less than 100 PPG. We think there is a great chance that both teams wind up under 100 here.

3-Unit Play #849 Take Miami +10
over Atlanta
(8 p.m. EST, Friday)
Just think this is way too many points for what we expect to be a very competitive game. This is an overreaction to the Chris Bosh injury and the Whiteside suspension. Miami blew out the Hawks last time without Whiteside in the lineup. They have a very solid defense and even with some key players out of the lineup the system is in place and that is why it’s tough to lay this many points against a team like this because in a low-scoring game every point is even more valuable. Wade is healthy here and playing well and when he is at his best he is probably the best player on the court in this game. We think the Heat keep this one within seven points tonight.

4-Unit Play #861 Take Denver/Sacramento – UNDER 217.5
(10 p.m. EST, Friday)
These aren’t very good defensive teams, there is no doubt about that. But this total is just way too high. Pro bettors bet this one down from an opener of 218, but this line is still too high and there is some very nice value here for teams that could be rusty heading back from the all-star break. All three games Thursday went under as teams tried to get their rhythm back and we expect the under to be a strong play across the board here in Sacramento. Coach Karl is on the hot seat in Sacramento and one of the main reasons is defense. This team has been very lousy in that aspect. But they have to get better. Karl got a reprieve and some extra time to figure things out and we think this team starts playing better on the defensive end in the second half of the season. Karl’s job literally depends on it. Denver is not a good offensive team and they can really struggle on any given night. It’s just hard to believe both teams will have a big game here offensively enough to get this one over the posted number.
