Sunday Night Action Report: Bettors hammering the ‘Over’
The first Sunday Night Football game of the year features an NFC East showdown with the New York Giants heading into Jerry World to take on the Dallas Cowboys, in a matchup that has gone over in five consecutive meetings and bettors think Sunday night will be no different.
Due to the matchup and defensive injuries piling up for both teams, bettors, sharps and the public alike, are hammering the over, according to Pete Childs of Sportsbook.
“We opened the total at 50 and that number is long gone,” Childs.
All the early over money was sharp and once the number hit 52, the public starting jumping on the over as well and while Sportsbook is currently dealing the total at 52.5, Childs says don’t expect that number to last.
“Last year all the late, primetime games went over and it’s the last game on the board tonight, we’re going to write nothing but over action and I wouldn’t be surprised if we closed 54,” Childs said. “A 4 point move on an NFL total that isn’t weather related is a pretty severe move.”
