Big profits could come from these NCAAF small-conference teams
By SPORTS PROFIT SYSTEM INVESTORS

Some of the best betting value in college football is hiding beyond the BCS, in the small conferences. Each week, Sports Profits System Investors will look at the little programs that could help you make big cash this college season.

Team to Watch: Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders

This week: Pick’em vs. Vanderbilt Commodores

This could be arguably the biggest opportunity for the Blue Raiders to notch a win over a “quality” opponent this season. Even though Vanderbilt resides in the bottom of the SEC, they are still considered a Power Five opponent.

The Blue Raiders are a quality team and gave Illinois all they could handle in their last matchup, even holding a 1-point lead late in the fourth quarter before ultimately falling 27-25 on a 51-yard field goal with just over two minutes left. Middle Tennessee has had a very tough non-conference schedule and have gone up against some quality teams already this season in both Illinois and Alabama. There’s no doubt the Blue Raiders come into this one battle tested.

Quarterback Brent Stockstill is a wildcard and could be the difference in this contest. Against the Illini, he racked up 330 yards and three touchdowns and has a dynamic receiving duo in Ed’Marques Batties and Rick James at his disposal. If Middle Tennessee can find a balanced attack on offense, they could wind up being a team to watch.

Team to beware of: Charlotte 49ers

This week: +23.5 vs. Temple Owls

The Charlotte 49ers are a team that is in complete shambles on the offensive side of the ball at the moment. Through four games, they have already turned the ball over an alarming 20 times and have shown no signs of slowing down.

What is probably most alarming is the fact that they have played so poorly against sub-par defenses. This week, however, they will face a Temple team who’s backbone and arguably the reason for their success this season is due to their hard-nosed defense.

Temple is coming off a bye week and has had a week to prepare for this contest. Having already forced eight turnovers on the season against high profile teams such as Penn State, Cincinnati and UMass, the 49ers could be in for a long day if they continue to turn the ball over at the rate they have been against this Owls team.

Total team to Watch: Tulsa Golden Hurricanes

This week: 81 vs. Houston Cougars

This is a different Tulsa team than years past. Last season, they managed to put up just an average of 25 points and just over 400 yards of offense per game. This season, however, the Golden Hurricanes have been nearly unstoppable on the offensive side averaging 41.7 points per game and 673 yards of total offense. Last week, they were involved in a shootout with the Oklahoma sooner which saw a combined 90 points scored and over 1300 yards of total offense.

As good as the Golden Hurricane offense is, their defense is equally as poor. Tulsa allowed 773 yards of total offense to the Sooners which included 497 yards through the air. Defensively, the Golden Hurricane rank 124th in yards allowed and 113th in points allowed.

The Houston Cougar offense has shown to be one of the more efficient in the country with Greg Ward Jr. at the helm and they have numerous playmakers, both on the ground and through the air. For fans of offense, this could be one of the more exciting and high-scoring games on the card this weekend.
