STEVE MERRIL

Screen Shot Friday

Marlins @ Phillies — Philadelphia’s Aaron Harang will make his third start against Miami this season. Harang has allowed 4 runs and nine hits in 14 innings pitched to the Marlins. Overall, he is 6-7 with a 5.80 ERA and 1.65 WHIP in 21 career starts against Miami. Justin Nicolino has lost just once in five road starts for the Marlins. He got a no-decision at home against the Phillies back on August 22nd after holding them to just 2 runs and five hits in 7.2 innings of work. I lean to the Marlins (-115) in this game.

Reds @ Pirates — The Reds are ready for the season to end. Cincinnati will send Keyvius Sampson to the mound tonight. Sampson has lost both of his starts against Pittsburgh; both of those game were at home. He earned a 6.97 ERA in those games. Overall, the righty is 2-6 with a 6.80 ERA and 1.92 WHIP in 11 starts for the Reds. Taking the Pirates -1.5 runs (-115) is the only way to play this game.

Padres @ Dodgers — San Diego’s Casey Kelly’s first start since 2012 didn’t go too well as he allowed 6 runs and six hits in five innings pitched to the Diamondbacks. Kelly faced the Dodgers way back in 2012, and he was rocked by them as well. LA’s Alex Wood is looking to bounce back after getting roughed up in Colorado. He recently beat the Padres 2-0 in San Diego back in September. Despite the high price tag, I could only back the Dodgers (-190) in this game.
