Top Pick: #2 (GIANTINTHEMOONLITE) (3-1) – He’s been at this 2l condition a long time, but has been competitive in all but one of ten starts at this level. Speed/stalker likes it at Belmont 3-1-2-0 and has run well without winning on wet tracks in the past. Gets a slight edge.
2nd Pick: #8 (Lehigh Five) (5-1) – Very lightly-raced, he was reported to be a runner before debuting this past January on Aqueduct’s inner surface. The rumors proved to be correct as he romped home by almost 11-lengths going 6-furlongs. However, he tired badly at this level going 8.5-furlongs March 15 and has been on the sidelines since. Working nicely for his return and a win candidate if ready.
3rd Pick: #7 (David Rocks) (3-1) – Very quick from the gate, he enters off a sharp try at this level going 6-furlongs at Saratoga Aug 22. He was involved in a pace-duel from start-to-finish and checked in third of eight, beaten a length. He’s won here in the past and it came on a wet surface June 21.
4th Pick: #1 (True Bet) (6-1) – Recent maiden winner did so at this distance Aug 28 at Saratoga. It was his first back off a seven-week freshening and stalker still has room for upside. Has the rail and is a stretch threat.
