Wild claim Porter off waivers
The Minnesota Wild claimed left wing Chris Porter off waivers from Philadelphia on Thursday.
Porter was one of the Flyers’ final cuts. He had considered signing with Minnesota in the offseason before signing a deal with Philadelphia.
Porter, 31, has scored 11 goals in 173 games over parts of six seasons with the St. Louis Blues.
Joining the Wild gives him the opportunity to play with Minnesota standout Zach Parise, who served as the best man in Porter’s wedding. Porter also was a groomsman in Parise’s wedding.
