3-Unit Play. Take Crystal Palace (-120) over West Brom (7:45 a.m., Saturday, October 3) (English Premier League)

South London-based Crystal Palace are coming off three points away to Watford, and they’ll continue their confidence at home. West Brom play after losing 3-2 to Everton after leading that match 2-0. I don’t think they are a quality enough side, certainly not at the moment to earn a result in the English capital. This is a case of two sides moving in opposite directions. We play the modest favorite here and bank on the victory, 2-0 to the Eagles here.

7-Unit Play. Take Chelsea (-128) over Southampton (12:30 p.m., Saturday, October 3) (English Premier League)

Even considering Chelsea’s struggles this season, this price is too low considering the Blues are home in a game they need to win. Jose Mourinho’s men have not looked good for the most part this campaign, including earlier in the week when they lost in Portugal to Porto in the Champions League. But perhaps all the more reason to jump on them with a very good line at their grounds. This is simply a case of buy low when stock has dropped. Chelsea get back in the win column vs. the Saints. Plus, add on the fact that Southampton has not won 3 in a row this season which speaks volumes as they have troubling handling success. Sure, they have looked good of late and the line is dropping but no fear here as Chelsea needs a big win and why not get it at home to get their first win in 3 tries as Southampton has yet to win 3 in a row this season thus far.

3-Unit Play. Take Schalke (-122) over Cologne (9:30 a.m., Sunday, October 4) (German Bundesliga)

Schalke are going good at the moment in the German top flight. They currently sit in third place behind Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. At home another three points would do them a world of good. Cologne have allowed nine goals in their three away league matches this season. I really like the momentum of Schalke and will back them to win and continue their fine form in the Bundesliga the first few months of the season.
