Montreal Canadiens vs Toronto Maple Leafs
6* NHL Free Pick Montreal Canadiens
The Toronto Maple Leafs are off a highly disappointing 2014/2015 season and I think they’re in for a rough start to the new campaign as well when hosting the Montreal Canadiens Wednesday night. The Canadiens won all four meetings last season outscoring Toronto 14-7. Goals won’t come easy tonight either for a Maple Leafs team that has dealt five-time 30-goal scorer Phil Kessel to Pittsburgh during the offseason and will face possibly the best netminder in the league in Carey Price. That’s not to say that Montreal has a free-scoring team, but it has brought in right wing Alex Semin from Carolina, forward Zack Kassian from Vancouver to improve the goal-production. The Maple Leafs are likely to go with Jonathan Bernier in net, and he has gone 1-5-3 with a 3.07 GAA in nine career starts against Montreal and we’re getting a fair price on the visitors here IMO.
– Montreal is 6-0 in the last six meetings.
