Harvard has disappeared from the Ivy race quicker than Lincoln Chafee dropped from the Democrat primaries, stumbling to 6 SU losses in its last 7 games, and still without a spread cover in calendar 2016! HC Tommy Amaker has yet to develop offensive options other than 6-9 jr. Zena Edosomwan (only DD scorer at 14.3 ppg). President Obama’s alma mater Columbia already won at Cambridge on Jan. 30 and continues to provide spirited chase to Yale and Princeton in the Ivy race as the Lions and their four double-digit scorers set themselves up for some kind of postseason invitation. 6-Unit Play. #883 Take Siena (Pk)
over Rider
(7 p.m., Friday, February 19)
Oddsmakers can’t get all their lines right, and my thoughts are they simply just missed one here. Listen, these are two MAAC teams that have gone in opposite directions since the season started. The Saints are 18-9 and have a strong RPI of 91. The Broncs are 11-16 and much farther back in the rankings at 248. All 11 wins for the Broncs have been against teams outside the RPI Top 150, and all but one against teams outside the RPI Top 200. Siena won the first meeting by double digits, and switching home court isn’t going to swing this game in the other direction. Siena is clearly the much superior team led by five double digit scorers. The team overall is shooting .470 percent from the field, .721 from the stripe and .379 as a team from long range. By comparison, Rider is scoring ten points less per game and worse off in all shooting categories. Siena has covered all four of their Friday games this year and won in dominant fashion, producing victories by 14, 35, 12 and 17. These spots just work for them. Siena is 4-1 ATS in the last five games against Rider, and this one gets them the season sweep along with their 12th league win of the year. Two weeks ago on the road, this Siena team lost to lowly Marist (5-21), but they have since responded with two strong wins, the latter besting Iona on the Gaels’ home floor. Now they follow that win up with another here. Siena is too good, and they’ll open things up in the second half and assert themselves. The Saints make good with another conference ‘W’, 79-65.Best of Luck – Strike Point Sports
