‘Triple-dime bet’Not much to write here….Nova needs to play a similar game like they played vs. Oklahoma. They don’t have to shoot 71% but they need to shoot 55%- make their throws and hit at least 50% from behind the arc- I think they can do it-
Arcidiacono is not forcing anything and with three other guys that can knock it down from deep in Hart, Jenkins and Brunson, the Cats have enough scoring punch to match Carolina’s offense.
A lot of pressure will be on Ochefu in the paint…he must stay out of trouble…and must be offensive minded so that he draws some double teams. That will open up a shooter that needs to knock down shots. I respect North Carolina big time. Justin Jackson is one of my favorite players in the country and the player I fear most on Monday night. His inside outside game is solid. He has those long arms and is able to over the top of defenders for offensive rebounds without fouling. Brice Johnson has a great touch for a big guy. Kennedy Meeks is an offensive tackle sized player with agility. Marcus Paige & Joel Berry II are a solid back court tandem and if either guy is knocking down the outside shot the Tar Heels are nearly impossible to beat. Pinson is a quiet assassin on some nights as well.
The only reason I’m on Villanova is a gut feeling that they can play a near perfect game. The chemistry on this team is as solid as any I’ve seen in quite awhile. These guys go to war with each other. They are as Blue Collared as their Jerseys & the city from which they hail, Philadelphia. I believe Jay Wright is a better game day coach than Roy Williams but at the end of the day…if Nova doesn’t shoot it well they could get blasted…..the seati ’ng has been moved in so the back drop is not as big a factor as in 2011 at NRG. Nova will cut down the nets if they play the kind of efficient, unselfish ball they have played the first five games of the Big Dance.
