KeymasterNEWSLETTER UFC 83 Prediction From Raphael Esparza
Take Webb (-220) over Coy (6 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 21)
This fight goes pretty early in the card, and I highly recommend jumping on this price quickly. Nathan Coy has dropped 3-Straight MMA fights (two in Strikeforce – one in UFC) and his first UFC fight he lost in the first round to Danny Roberts by submission. Wouldn’t shock me to see this fight go the distance, but if Jonavin Webb can establish his striking early we could see him end this first in the mid-second round. Either or, I don’t see Nathan Coy winning this fight and Jonavin Webb getting some redemption after his loss in May of 2015.February 21, 2016 at 9:50 am #31918admin

Top Pick: #5 (ROMAN CERES) (5-1) – She’s one of five first-time-starters in this eight-horse field. Filly ships up from Payson Park in Florida, which is trainer Bill Mott’s winter base of operations. The track there is very deep and usually leads to slow-timed works. She was training well above average before moving north and has a pair of quick works at Belmont since arriving.
2nd Pick: #3 (Nick’s Funnybone) (3-1) – She showed good early speed before tiring late when debuting here at this level and distance Jan. 31st. Capable small barn (Mark Hubley) brings her back quickly, and she should be involved from start-to-finish.
3rd Pick: #2 (Riot Worthy) (2-1) – The probable favorite, she’s finished 2nd in three of five starts when facing maidens. Freshened up since late December, owner/trainer Charlie Baker had her work a quick half-mile Feb. 6th at Belmont.
4th Pick: #7 (Gonna Find Her) (6-1) – Very wide in her debut, she raced evenly while finishing 4th of seven. In a sharp and under-rated barn (Mike Dilger), I expect this daughter of ‘Posse’ to factor at a square price.
